Patrick Goodwyn is a licensed South Carolina attorney and a member of the firm’s Creditors’ Rights team. He represents a wide range of consumer lending institutions in pre-suit collection efforts, lawsuits, judgments, executions, and other commercial litigation.
Before joining Smith Debnam, Patrick was an associate attorney at McDonnell and Associates, PA in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He represented businesses and consumers in real estate transactions including the purchase, sale, and refinance of commercial and residential property.
While attending law school, Patrick gained valuable experience as a trial advocate through the Charleston School of Law’s trial advocacy program. Patrick gained additional legal experience as a law clerk for the City of Charleston, where he drafted memoranda addressing contract disputes, zoning ordinances, policing issues, and natural disaster preparedness. Patrick also served as the mock trial coach for Cairo Middle School in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
Patrick is originally from Tarboro, North Carolina. He graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Business Management. He earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Charleston School of Law in Charleston, South Carolina.
