John B. Honeycutt
John B. Honeycutt, Jr. is the resident partner in our Charlotte office. With nearly thirty years of legal experience, primarily in commercial transactions and civil litigation, John’s current practice areas include commercial real estate, creditor representation, commercial contracts, community association law, and general commercial litigation. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in North Carolina and South Carolina, as well as all Louisiana state courts and the federal courts for the Western District of Louisiana. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth, Fifth, and Eleventh Circuits. A graduate of the University of Louisiana, John received his law degree from Loyola University School of Law in 1978.
John is a certified Circuit Court Arbitrator in South Carolina and is a member of numerous professional organizations and associations including the North Carolina Bankers Association and the State Bar Associations for North Carolina, South Carolina, and Louisiana. In addition, he is a member of the Business Law Section and the Litigation Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and the American Bar Association. In connection with his business and litigation practice, John has addressed various interest groups and risk management organizations on a range of topics including contract preparation and enforcement, jury selection in civil cases, settlement negotiations and trial strategies in civil litigation.
John and his wife, Anne, are active in the Charlotte community and are the parents of three sons.
