Christina McAlpin Taylor and Jennifer Eason participate in Lunch with a Lawyer Program
August 15, 2011
Christina McAlpin Taylor, Attorney and Jennifer Eason, Paralegal had the opportunity to treat Ayana Jarvis to lunch at Cookout, the restaurant of her choice, as part of the Lunch with a Lawyer Program. This Wake County Bar public service project pairs volunteer attorneys with school
students employed by the City of Raleigh summer youth employment
program. A senior at Knightdale High School, Ayana is a smart and driven young lady, who is a very talented artist. During lunch, she shared her art portfolio with Christina and Jennifer, which contains a sampling of her favorite pieces which include portraits, landscapes, and abstracts.

Christina and Jennifer shared with Ayana information about their careers in law. Although she is not particularly interested in the legal field right now, she does have dreams of studying art and eventually teaching the subject. She is currently applying to art schools in Florida and North Carolina and hopes to get a scholarship to be able to afford to get her degree. She recently earned third place in the 2011 Gifts of Gold art show and in 2010 won third place in the Congressional Arts Competition.
