File Intake Clerk

This position will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative support tasks for the Consumer Collections practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process new claim setup (both manual and electronic) and review new claims for accuracy of name, address, plaintiff, etc.  Ensure all account information is correct.
  • Load and review daily updates from clients including recalls and re-placements. Research any errors and make corrections.
  • Download and import Account Level Documentation such as loan docs, contracts, applications, statement of accounts, terms and conditions.
  • Review Account Level Documentation for accurate balances and consumer information.
  • Oversee third-party vendor responsible for reviewing Account Level Documentation for select clients.
  • Run manual and automated requests for credit bureaus.
  • Generate initial notice letters on new claims, review same for accuracy, scan letters to be imaged, and run daily import tasks.
  • Correct accounting errors in individual account card balances
  • Request out-of-state exemplified judgments for domestication.
  • Review and follow up on files that are on hold and then process accordingly.
  • Process claim reassignments where debtor has relocated outside of jurisdiction.
  • Close accounts that have been entered into a closure queue.
  • Contact clients with requests to reopen accounts.
  • Respond to client inquiries on an as-needed basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Prefer Associates’s degree and/or a minimum of 1-2 years equivalent experience.
  • Proficient with creating and revising Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to analyze and decipher data such as status of debtor payments, account balances, status of litigation process in client reports.  Ability to discover client account errors and present solutions
  • Understanding of the collection litigation process, a plus
  • Ability to multi-task a variety of assignments regularly
  • Proven ability to work with a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in basic math: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure
  • Proficient organizational skills and strong ability to attend to details
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 50 WPM or more

Candidates will be tested for basic skills and must show proof of education/certifications.
