Brian Gilman, Smith Debnam’s Director of Administration, along with local professionals from the NC State Bar and Lawyers Mutual, will be presenting “Best Practices of Managing a Law Firm” to the Wake County Tenth Judicial District Bar on Wednesday, April 18th at 7:30am at the Mecca in Raleigh.
The presenters will discuss how to set up procedures and practices to manage a law firm and avoid pitfalls. Further, there will be discussion of resources when advice is needed in confronting uncertain situations in the practice.
Brian Gilman serves as the Director of Administration for Smith Debnam and is responsible for managing the firm’s finance, human resources, information systems, marketing, facilities support, and risk management functions. Brian is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee responsible for strategic planning and business development of the law firm. He has served terms on the North Carolina Bar Association Law Practice Management Council, the NC Bar Tenth District Grievance Committee and the Virginia Bar 4th District Disciplinary Committee, as the President of the Raleigh-Durham Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators, and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of an international non-profit ministry. Brian has earned the Certified Legal Manager designation from the Association of Legal Administrators.
