Real Estate Paralegal

This position will:

  • Provide support of several attorneys
  • Take initial client intake and file set up, creating timelines and checklists
  • Order and review title commitments
  • Perform title updates with county registries and tax offices
  • Prepare documents for attorney review
  • Address satisfaction and resolution of title requirements/title exceptions
  • Read ALTA surveys and recorded plats
  • Calculate and manage critical dates
  • Create and maintain checklists
  • Draft closing statements
  • Manage invoices, receipts, and disbursements
  • Coordinate and facilitate closings, signings, and post-closing duties
  • Provide other general office duties to include copying, faxing, scanning documents, data entry, answering phones, and working with practicing attorneys.

What we are looking for:

  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a law firm working in residential and/or commercial real estate
  • Strong document review, proofreading, and drafting skills
  • Basic title searching skills
  • Experience with title documents, title issues, and corrective measures
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proven ability to think analytically
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products to include Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to type 50 WPM or more
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proven experience to work independently and when under pressure for tight deadlines
  • Experience tracking/billing time preferred
  • SoftPro experience preferred
  • E-recording experience preferred
