Systems Administrator

This position will be responsible for the design, configuration, and implementation of local and wide area network solutions between multiple platforms to include remote access, internet, and voice communications.  Is responsible for troubleshooting network usage, workstations, and computer peripherals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
  • Makes recommendations for future upgrades and/or changes to the systems
  • Assists in monitoring, evaluating and maintaining the security and performance of the network and systems
  • Troubleshoots problems reported by users by analyzing and isolating the issue(s)
  • Maintains network facilities of individual machines, such as drivers, settings of personal computers and/or printers and works with helpdesk staff to remediate
  • Ensures network connectivity throughout the firm’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations
  • Assists in the design and deployment of network devices such as wireless access point and network switching
  • Maintains network servers such as file, database, and email
  • Administers configuration of authentication and authorization within directory services
  • Maintains logs and other relevant change management documentation for archival and audit purposes
  • Provides complex/advanced issues support for servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, switches, phones, company mobile phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches
  • Participates in after-hours or “on call” troubleshooting as required 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Prior project planning experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, and other programs.
  • A minimum of 2 to 4-year degree in a related field, MCP/MCSE preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in technical support for an enterprise system, preferably in the legal or banking industry but not required
  • Management and maintenance of Windows operating systems
  • Understanding of messaging systems, databases, web servers, and other common applications
  • Competency in common PC applications such as MS Office etc.
  • Generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs
  • Understanding trends in technology and their relation to the business
  • Proven ability to determine the types of tools and equipment needed to do a job
  • Proven ability to determining causes of operating errors and developing solution options
  • Advanced understanding of troubleshooting steps and root cause analysis
  • Working understanding of the following compliance and control standards: PCI-DSS, ISO 27001/2, NIST 800 frameworks
