RALEIGH, N.C. (March 3, 2025) – Smith Debnam is pleased to announce the addition of Kylie L. Hamilton as an Associate Attorney to its Construction and Leasing practice group. With her arrival, the firm is further strengthening its capabilities in Construction Litigation, Equipment Leasing and Finance, and Commercial Bankruptcy, bringing a fresh yet highly seasoned perspective to these vital practice areas.
Hamilton joins the firm with a robust background in complex litigation, construction disputes, bankruptcy law, and creditors’ rights. She previously worked at Waldrep Wall Babcock & Bailey PLLC, where she handled commercial bankruptcy cases and business insolvency matters. Additionally, her tenure as a law clerk for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan gave her invaluable insights into bankruptcy law and its procedural intricacies. Hamilton’s previous experience also spans civil litigation and construction law, areas she will continue to serve at Smith Debnam.
“We are excited to welcome Kylie to our team,” said Jerry Myers, Managing Partner at Smith Debnam. “Her deep knowledge of bankruptcy and construction litigation, along with her fresh approach, will enhance our ability to address complex legal challenges. Kylie’s experience and collaborative mindset are sure to fortify our existing practices and provide even greater value to our clients.”
Hamilton expressed her excitement about joining the firm, stating, “I am thrilled to become part of a team that is known for its client-first approach and collaborative culture. I look forward to contributing my experience and working alongside such a dedicated group of professionals to help clients navigate the complexities of construction law and bankruptcy.”
Hamilton earned her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2020 and her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and History from Alma College in 2017. She is admitted to practice law in North Carolina and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina. She is also set to be admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States in 2025.
