This prestigious accolade was presented to Gilman during ALA’s 2022 Annual Conference held in Kissimmee, Florida.
The ALA’s Annual Conference serves as a platform to recognize the exceptional achievements of its members in advancing the legal management profession. The Outstanding Association Volunteer Award acknowledges individuals who have made significant contributions to specific projects or displayed continuous volunteer efforts, particularly at the international level.
Gilman has been a member of ALA since 2004, actively volunteering and advocating for the organization both locally at the Raleigh/Durham Chapter and internationally. Gilman currently holds the position of President of the Foundation of the Association of Legal Administrators’ Board of Trustees. Previously, he served on the ALA Board of Directors from 2018 to 2020. His contributions have played a vital role in the Association’s growth and success, especially during a period of leadership transition and change. Prior to his board service, Gilman held various volunteer roles, including Regional Representative, member of the Financial Management Task Force, and the Regional Nominating Committee, among others.
