Paralegal – Title Search

The Title Search Paralegal will primarily be responsible for conducting title research and administrative support for our Business Law practice. General duties will include document drafting, research, and reviewing title reports for various types of properties.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct full and limited title research and examination for complex commercial, vacant land, and residential properties
  • Locate prior title insurance policies
  • Draft title reports that evaluate and summarize title records and property history
  • Order, review and interpret surveys
  • Draft, read, interpret, and plat metes and bounds descriptions
  • Process, proofread and edit Real Estate documents and other written materials
  • General duties include copying, faxing, scanning documents, data entry, answering phones, and working with practicing attorneys.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in residential and/or Commercial Real Estate title searching and or Real Estate Closings
  • Searching Registries of Deeds, tax and GIS websites, Clerks’ AOC terminals (VCAP)
  • Knowledge and experience with identifying and evaluating restrictive covenants, easements, access, rights of way, probate, estate, and foreclosure matters
  • Able to think critically and analytically
  • Able to work independently and manage tight deadlines
  • Experience using Softpro, Simplifile,, and Deed Plotter a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proven experience working independently in prior positions
