RALEIGH, N.C. (October 8, 2026) – Smith Debnam Narron Drake Saintsing & Myers, LLP has added attorney Stella Fields to its Raleigh office, expanding its family law team to help individuals navigate divorce, child custody, child support, and equitable distribution matters.
Fields returns to Smith Debnam after participating in the firm’s Summer Associate Program, where she worked alongside its family law attorneys on active client matters. Her assignments included assisting with financial asset tracing, preparing for emergency custody hearings, and drafting motions and pleadings. She joins the practice with an understanding of the team’s work and established relationships with her colleagues.

Myers, the firm’s managing partner. “Our Summer Associate Program gives us the opportunity to build those relationships early, through meaningful work and mentorship. We’re pleased to welcome Stella back to continue building her career with us.”
Fields also gained experience at the Children’s Law Center in Winston-Salem, where she assisted attorneys with custody matters. Through interviews with parents and others familiar with each family, she helped gather the information attorneys needed to develop custody recommendations. That work reinforced her interest in understanding the family relationships and daily realities behind a legal dispute.
“I want clients to feel they are part of a team, not just being told what happens next,” Fields said. “That starts with listening to what matters most to them and having honest conversations about their options, the obstacles they may face, and how their choices could affect their families.”
Fields earned her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2026 and her bachelor’s degree in criminology from the University of Florida in 2023. She is admitted to practice in North Carolina.
